Weekly Roundup: New Zealand Clinches T20I Series Victory Amidst IPL Fever

Pak Vs NZ 2025 – T20I Series 

In the ongoing T20I series between Pakistan and New Zealand in March 2025, the second match at Dunedin saw New Zealand clinch a rain-affected game by five wickets, taking a 2-0 lead.  Pakistan rebounded in the third T20I at Auckland, achieving a commanding nine-wicket victory, highlighted by Hasan Nawaz’s record-breaking unbeaten 105, keeping the series alive.  However, in the fourth T20I at Mount Maunganui, New Zealand dominated, posting a formidable 220 runs and bowling out Pakistan for 105, securing a 115-run win and an unassailable 3-1 series lead. 

IPL 2025 – RCB Vs KKR 

In the highly anticipated IPL 2025 opener, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a commanding seven-wicket victory over defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens. KKR set a target of 175 runs, with notable contributions from Ajinkya Rahane (56 off 31 balls) and Sunil Narine (44 off 26 balls). RCB’s chase was spearheaded by an unbeaten 59 from Virat Kohli and a brisk 56 from Phil Salt, leading them to 177/3 in just 16.2 overs. The match also highlighted Krunal Pandya’s impactful bowling performance, with figures of 3/29, and Josh Hazlewood’s economical spell of 2/22, underscoring RCB’s dominance in both batting and bowling departments. 

IPL 2025 – SRH Vs RR 

In the second match of IPL 2025, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) set a formidable total of 286/6 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Ishan Kishan delivered a stellar performance, scoring an unbeaten 106 off 47 balls, earning him the Player of the Match award. Despite a valiant effort, RR managed 242/6 in their 20 overs, falling short by 44 runs. Jofra Archer’s return for RR was challenging, as he conceded 76 runs in his four overs—the most expensive bowling figures in IPL history. 

IPL 2025 – MI Vs CSK

In the third match of IPL 2025 on March 23 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) secured a four-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians (MI). MI, batting first, posted a total of 155/9 in their 20 overs. CSK’s chase was bolstered by a stellar performance from their young Afghan spinner, Noor Ahmad who delivered an economical bowling spell of 4 for 18. His admirable performance earned him the Player of the Match award.
